Two years is the time it took to jointly design, develop, manufacture, carry out all necessary tests and put into production the KAMSS-1875-1D-52 three-unit diesel power plant based on Cummins engine and Stamford generator with CUMMINS, Tver Carriage Building Plant, Transmashholding and JSC TSKB TM. The nominal capacity of the DES is 1,365 kW, which allows providing passenger trains with up to 23 cars on non-electrified sections of railways with electricity.
The DES consists of 3 diesel-electric installations, cooling units and a ventilation system of under-roof design, a ventilation control system, an additional filtration system for gorenje air and air entering the engine room, an equipment control system from the operator's room. It is intended for installation in a power car model 61-4551 produced by the Tver Car Building Plant.
In April 2022, an interdepartmental commission was held, the participants of which positively assessed the new development and signed an act according to which the DES was assigned the letter "O1" and the possibility of manufacturing an installation series of 12 car sets was determined.
The full production cycle will be carried out at the production site of the KAMSS group of companies in St. Petersburg.
